About the Company
The Rajagiri Group of Institutions — comprising Rajagiri College of Social Sciences (RCSS) and Rajagiri Business School (RBS) — is a premier educational institution based in Kalamassery, Kerala, India. Founded in 2001 under the Carmelites of Mary Immaculate (CMI) congregation, the group has established a strong reputation for academic excellence and social responsibility.
RCSS and RBS are known for their active CSR programmes, including community welfare, gender equality, and health awareness campaigns. The Rajagiri e-Marathon initiative combined institutional wellness with a charitable cause — raising funds to provide scholarships to children from families affected by the COVID-19 pandemic in Mumbai and Pune.
Key Objective
"Our objective was to promote holistic wellbeing across all demographics by offering a cost-effective wellness solution along with a gamified experience to increase brand recall value."
The Challenge
- Rajagiri planned to organise a global wellness campaign addressing mental and physical health issues caused by the COVID-19 pandemic — requiring a platform that could scale to thousands of participants worldwide.
- Their biggest hurdle was engaging participants virtually while maintaining safety precautions and keeping the event accessible across geographies.
- They needed a virtual wellness solution with engaging fitness contest features and the ability to accommodate international participants from any time zone.
- The admin team required real-time monitoring of each participant's fitness progress alongside tools to sustain engagement throughout the event.
The Approach
- Vantage Fit hosted the Rajagiri e-Marathon — a 15-day global walkathon structured in two phases: Fit Run and Challenge Run.
- Fit Run ran from September 28 to October 2, 2020, with a target of covering 21.1 km.
- Challenge Run ran from October 5 to October 9, 2020, with a more demanding target of 42.2 km.
- A fast, easy onboarding process was set up with 24×7 customer service available throughout the event.
- Multi fitness-device integration ensured participants could join using wearables or smartphones regardless of geography.
- HR admins monitored real-time progress through the Vantage Fit Dashboard, with access to total calories burned, age/gender breakdowns, top performers, and leaderboard rankings.
