The Results
Across all three challenges, Wipro achieved measurable progress on every barrier it set out to address:
- 3X increase in participation — from 163 active users in the first challenge to 550 in the Step-a-thon.
- 46.53 million cumulative steps — equivalent to climbing Mount Everest almost 525 times.
- 84% increase in monthly activity — steps logged grew from 41.45M in May to 76.12M in July.
- 30+ countries participated, with top contributions from Philippines (111), United Kingdom (82), Canada (60), Brazil (29), Australia (27), Saudi Arabia (26), and Poland (23).
- Employees consistently adopted micro-habits — daily walks, hydration, mindfulness — driving long-term behaviour change rather than short-term participation bursts.
Why It Matters
Wipro's results demonstrate that when wellness is inclusive, data-driven, and sustained across challenges, it evolves from a check-the-box benefit into a cultural catalyst for engagement, performance, and retention. A global workforce can be united through habit-forming programmes — and gamification, tracking, and education genuinely bridge the engagement gap that generic wellness initiatives leave open.
The Road Ahead
Wipro is expanding the programme with AI-powered personalised wellness, lab-report-based health analysis, Microsoft Teams integration, a global virtual marathon, and deeper incentivisation of challenges — building on the foundation these three 2025 challenges established.
