About the Company
JF Petroleum Group is a leading petroleum services company headquartered in Morrisville, North Carolina, founded in 1945. The company specialises in oil field and pipeline operations — physically demanding, safety-critical work environments where workforce wellbeing is a strategic priority, not a side initiative.
With a workforce spanning field crews, pipeline operators, and office staff, JF Petroleum needed a wellness solution that could serve equally well across very different work environments and schedules. The 52-Week Streak Initiative became one of the company's most ambitious investments in long-term employee health.
The Challenge
JF Petroleum had always prioritised workforce wellbeing, but existing wellness efforts suffered from a fundamental problem: they were episodic, siloed, and entirely individual. Employees participated in isolation, making it nearly impossible to build lasting habits or a sense of shared momentum.
- Wellness activities were disconnected bursts of engagement with no thread connecting them over time.
- There was no data on engagement patterns, behavioural trends, or long-term adoption across teams.
- Field workers needed solutions adapted to physically demanding environments — not generic programmes built for office settings.
- Without a centralised platform, teams couldn't progress together or celebrate collective milestones.
The organisation needed a structured, year-long programme that could convert individual wellness actions into team-wide culture — and measure that culture in real time.
The Approach
JF Petroleum implemented Vantage Fit as its centralised wellness platform, anchored by a league-based progression model that converted individual actions into collective momentum across 52 weeks.
1. League-Based Progression — Employees progressed through Bronze, Silver, and Gold leagues based on consistency and sustained effort. This created a visible, motivating path for every participant throughout the year. Gold league members averaged up to 1,600+ streak days — exceptional long-term habit formation within the active challenge window.
2. Community-Driven Participation — Teams and departments progressed together, reinforcing shared accountability and building a collective wellness identity across the entire organisation.
3. Workplace-Relevant Activities — Challenges covering movement, recovery, hydration, and mental well-being were designed for the realities of field and pipeline work — accessible to both field crews and office staff.
4. Real-Time Data Visibility — HR leaders gained full visibility into engagement rates, behavioural trends, and participation consistency over time through the Vantage Fit dashboard.
The programme was structured around three interconnected pillars:
- Weekly Journey Challenges — Themed weekly step challenges targeting 35,000+ steps, encouraging consistent movement accessible to all employees regardless of role or location.
- Multi-Activity Challenges — Holistic challenges across nutrition logging, hydration, sleep, squats, weight tracking, and mindfulness — running simultaneously year-round across 7 wellness dimensions.
- Engagement Growth Engine — Multi-activity participation grew from 38% at launch to 65% at peak, proving the league model drives sustained behavioural change over time.
Results
Over the course of the 52-week programme, JF Petroleum built a measurable wellness community — with participation growing steadily and habits sustained well beyond initial launch.
- 81% overall engagement rate — strong adoption and sustained participation well above industry benchmarks.
- 25%+ of employees upgraded from Bronze to Silver league, demonstrating sustained, long-term commitment.
- Multi-activity participation grew from 38% to 65% — nearly doubling from programme launch to peak.
- 12,914 total activities logged across all activity types combined.
- 1,180 squat sessions tracked, with a peak of 722 reps for the highest individual record.
- 8,800+ mindfulness minutes logged org-wide, averaging 12 minutes per session — with "Jungle Sounds" as the top selected track.
- 3,600+ meals logged — a 124.95% increase in nutrition tracking over the programme period.
- 7,900 water logs recorded, with an average of 3 litres per individual.
- Average sleep duration of 7 hours 15 minutes — healthy and consistent across the workforce.

"The 52-Week Streak programme transformed how our workforce thinks about wellness. It stopped being an individual effort and became a team culture — one we can actually measure, celebrate, and build on year after year."
