About the Company
Intrado is a global technology company delivering mission-critical communications solutions across emergency services, enterprise communications, and digital media. Founded in 1986 and headquartered in Omaha, Nebraska, Intrado operates across multiple time zones with a large, geographically distributed workforce — making accessible, platform-agnostic wellness programs a core people-operations priority.
Key Objective
"Our primary goal is to offer a comprehensive wellness program capable enough to lead the participants towards adopting a healthy lifestyle."
The Challenge
- Intrado needed an effective wellness program to keep employees active and engaged — particularly given the shift towards sedentary remote-working patterns.
- They sought a digital wellbeing platform that could raise health awareness across a globally distributed workforce.
- The HR team required a real-time dashboard to accurately track and monitor individual employee performance throughout the campaign.
- Any solution had to be fully virtual — removing time-zone and location constraints so all employees, regardless of geography, could participate equally.
- Intrado wanted to use the wellness campaign as a lever to bring a dispersed remote team closer together through shared goals and friendly competition.
The Approach
- Vantage Fit powered a 5-week virtual wellness program named "Healthy Me", running from May 24 to June 27, 2021.
- While step tracking was the primary metric, the campaign was holistic — incorporating Meal Log, Yoga, Meditation, and other activities, each with specific weekly targets.
- Admins were given a Custom Challenge builder to develop organisation-specific activities aligned to Intrado's wellness goals.
- A real-time HR Dashboard gave the wellness team full visibility into participant performance across all regions, eliminating geographical barriers.
- Employees accessed a fully gamified leaderboard, tracking their own task completion and standings in real time — keeping accountability high throughout all five weeks.
- A transparent points system assigned rewards against every task, motivating consistent daily engagement rather than last-minute pushes.
- Customisable food logging, mindfulness sessions, and meditation activities ensured the programme addressed physical, nutritional, and mental wellness together.

Results
Over the 5-week Healthy Me campaign, more than 1,100 Intrado employees demonstrated consistent, multi-dimensional engagement — sustaining activity across all five weeks and finishing with a measurable uptick in daily step counts.
- 1,100+ employees participated in the 5-week campaign.
- The workforce collectively logged over 63 million steps across the programme duration.
- Each participant covered an average of 57+ km — entirely through daily activity tracked on Vantage Fit.
- The organisation burned approximately 2.8 million KCal collectively during the challenge.
- A 1.7% average increase in individual step counts was recorded in the final two weeks, showing sustained momentum rather than drop-off.
