How do I import workouts from my wearable?

Updated May 12, 2026 Employee

If you track workouts on your Apple Watch, Fitbit, Garmin, or any Health Connect-compatible wearable, you can import those workouts into Vantage Fit. Imported workouts count toward your challenges and appear in your activity history.

How It Works

Workout imports are not automatic — they require your confirmation. Here's the flow:

  1. You complete a workout on your wearable (e.g., a run tracked on your Apple Watch).
  2. The workout syncs to your phone's health platform (Apple Health, Fitbit, or Health Connect).
  3. Vantage Fit detects the new workout and sends you a notification: "Workout ready to import."
  4. Tap the notification to review the workout details.
  5. Tap Import to bring it into Vantage Fit.

Note: Workouts are never imported automatically. You always choose whether to import each one. This gives you control over what appears in your Vantage Fit activity history.

Supported Wearables

Platform Wearables
Apple Health Apple Watch, and any device that writes workouts to Apple Health
Fitbit All Fitbit trackers and smartwatches
Garmin Garmin smartwatches and fitness trackers
Health Connect Samsung Galaxy Watch, Google Pixel Watch, and other Android wearables

Supported Workout Types

You can import the following GPS-based workout types:

  • Running
  • Walking
  • Cycling
  • Wheelchair

Note: Only these four workout types support full import with GPS data. Other workout types from your wearable (like swimming or strength training) are not currently importable.

What Gets Imported

When you import a workout, Vantage Fit pulls in:

  • Distance covered
  • Duration of the workout
  • Calories burned
  • GPS route (displayed on a map in your workout summary)
  • Per-km splits with pace data

The imported workout looks and behaves exactly like a workout you tracked directly in the Vantage Fit app.

Duplicate Prevention

Vantage Fit automatically prevents duplicate imports. If you already tracked the same workout in Vantage Fit (or already imported it), the app won't let you import it again. You don't need to worry about double-counting.

Troubleshooting

I'm not getting import notifications:

  • Make sure Vantage Fit has permission to read health data on your device.
  • On iOS: Go to Settings > Health > Data Access & Devices > Vantage Fit and enable all categories.
  • On Android: Check Health Connect > App permissions > Vantage Fit.
  • Make sure notifications are enabled for Vantage Fit in your phone's notification settings.

My wearable isn't listed:

  • If your wearable writes data to Apple Health or Health Connect, it should work even if not listed by name. The key is that the workout data reaches your phone's health platform.

Tip: After a long run or bike ride, check your notifications before opening Vantage Fit. The import prompt usually appears within a few minutes of your workout syncing.
