Groups are team chat spaces within the Community tab in Vantage Fit. They give you a place to message colleagues, share motivation, and stay connected around wellness goals. Think of them as dedicated group chats for your wellness community.
Types of Groups
There are two types of groups in Vantage Fit:
Focus Groups
These are groups created by users (if your company has this feature enabled). Anyone can start a Focus Group, name it, and invite colleagues to join using an invite code.
Focus Groups are great for:
- Department wellness teams
- Running clubs or walking groups
- Accountability partners
- Cross-team fitness communities
Challenge Chats
These are automatically created when a challenge starts. If you're participating in a challenge, a group chat is set up for all challenge participants so you can share progress, cheer each other on, and coordinate team activities.
You don't need to create or join Challenge Chats — they appear automatically when you join a challenge.
Note: Groups are only available if chat is enabled for your company. If you don't see the Community tab, your company's admin hasn't activated this feature.
How to Create a Group
- Tap the Community tab in the bottom navigation.
- Tap the Create Group button.
- Enter a group name that describes the group's purpose.
- Invite colleagues by sharing the invite code.
How to Join a Group
If a colleague has created a group and wants you to join:
- Get the invite code from the group creator.
- Go to the Community tab.
- Tap Join Group (or enter the code where prompted).
- You'll be added to the group and can start chatting immediately.
Tip: Ask your team lead or HR admin if there are any existing groups you should join — some companies set up department-specific groups to boost engagement.
Group Features
Once you're in a group, you can:
- Send messages in real time — messages appear instantly for all group members
- Share images — post photos of your workouts, healthy meals, or team activities
- See presence indicators — know when other members are online
- Scroll through history — all messages are preserved so you can catch up
Unread Messages
When someone posts in a group you belong to, you'll see:
- An unread badge on the Community tab showing the number of unread messages
- The group with new messages highlighted in your group list
Tap the group to read the messages and clear the badge.
Department-Mapped Groups
Your company's admin can map groups to specific departments, creating ready-made team spaces. If your company uses this feature, you may find yourself already added to your department's group when you first open the Community tab.
