What is a Streak Challenge?

Updated May 12, 2026 Employee

A Streak Challenge is all about consistency. Your company sets a daily step target, and your job is simple: hit that target as many days in a row as you can. The longer your streak, the higher you climb on the leaderboard. It is the most habit-focused challenge format in Vantage Fit.

How It Works

Every day during the challenge period, you have one goal — reach the daily step target set by your HR admin. If you hit the target, your streak counter goes up by one. If you miss a day, your streak resets to zero and you start building again.

Here is a quick example:

  • Daily target: 8,000 steps
  • Monday: 9,200 steps — streak is 1 day
  • Tuesday: 8,500 steps — streak is 2 days
  • Wednesday: 6,300 steps — streak resets to 0
  • Thursday: 10,100 steps — streak starts over at 1 day

Note: Only steps count in a Streak Challenge. There are no other task types like water, sleep, or meditation — it is purely a step-based format.

The Leaderboard

The Streak Challenge leaderboard ranks participants using two criteria:

  1. Days completed (primary) — the total number of days you hit the target, regardless of whether they were consecutive.
  2. Total steps (tiebreaker) — if two people completed the same number of days, the one with more total steps ranks higher.

So even if your streak resets midway through, every successful day still counts toward your total. You are never "out of the race" just because you missed a day.

Viewing Your Streak

Open the challenge from the Challenges tab and tap into the challenge detail screen. You will see:

  • Your current streak — how many consecutive days you have hit the target so far
  • Your best streak — the longest consecutive run you have achieved during this challenge
  • Days completed — total days you hit the target (even non-consecutive ones)
  • Your rank on the leaderboard

Tips for Building a Strong Streak

  • Front-load your steps. Do not wait until evening to check your count. A morning walk gives you a buffer for the rest of the day.
  • Set a reminder. Use the Vantage Fit daily reminder (Settings → Reminders) so you do not forget to check your progress before bed.
  • Sync before midnight. Open the app and tap Plus (+) → Sync before the day ends to make sure all your steps are counted.
  • Know the target. Check the challenge detail screen to see the exact daily step target — it is set by your admin and stays the same throughout the challenge.

Tip: Even if your streak resets, keep going. The leaderboard counts total days completed, so every day you hit the target still improves your rank.

How Is It Different from Other Challenge Formats?

Format What Matters Task Types
Streak Challenge Daily consistency (hit target every day) Steps only
Race Challenge Total step count (accumulate the most) Steps only
Custom Challenge Weekly tasks and point targets Multiple (steps, water, sleep, etc.)
Journey Challenge Reaching milestones on a visual map Multiple
E-Marathon Distance accumulated from steps Steps (converted to distance)

Streak Challenges are the best format if your goal is to build a sustainable daily walking habit rather than win an all-out step competition.
