Can I Connect Multiple Devices at the Same Time?

Updated May 12, 2026 Employee

No — Vantage Fit uses one primary device at a time for step data. This is by design: connecting multiple step sources would cause double-counting, inflating your numbers and giving you an unfair advantage on leaderboards.

How Device Priority Works

Here's how Vantage Fit decides where your step data comes from:

Scenario Step Data Source
Fitbit connected Steps come from Fitbit only
Garmin connected Steps come from Garmin only
No Fitbit or Garmin (iPhone) Steps come from Apple Health
No Fitbit or Garmin (Android) Steps come from Google Fit

When you connect a Fitbit or Garmin, your steps come from that device only. The app stops counting steps from Apple Health or Google Fit to avoid double-counting.

What About Apple Watch?

Apple Watch is not a separate device in Vantage Fit's eyes. It feeds data into Apple Health automatically, and Vantage Fit reads from Apple Health. So if you're using an iPhone with an Apple Watch and no Fitbit/Garmin connected:

  • Your Apple Watch records steps and workouts
  • That data flows into Apple Health
  • Vantage Fit reads from Apple Health
  • Everything "just works" — no separate connection needed

On Android, connect Samsung Watch from Device Management if you want it to be your selected step device.

Tip: If you wear an Apple Watch, Apple Health handles the step data automatically. On Android, check Device Management to confirm the selected step source.

What Happens When You Connect a New Device

When you connect a new Fitbit or Garmin:

  • The new device becomes your primary step source immediately
  • Any previously connected device is disconnected automatically
  • Steps from the new device start syncing

You don't need to manually disconnect the old device first — connecting a new one handles the switch.

How to Switch Devices

If you want to change your step data source:

  1. Go to Settings > Devices & Connections.
  2. Disconnect your current device (if one is connected).
  3. Connect the new device you want to use.

Common Switching Scenarios

Fitbit to Garmin (or vice versa): Simply connect the new device — the old one disconnects automatically.

Fitbit/Garmin to phone only: Disconnect your Fitbit or Garmin. Vantage Fit will automatically fall back to Apple Health (iOS) or Google Fit (Android) for step data.

Phone only to Fitbit/Garmin: Connect the Fitbit or Garmin. It takes over as your step source immediately.

Got a new Apple Watch? No action needed. Your new Apple Watch syncs to Apple Health just like the old one. Vantage Fit continues reading from Apple Health without any changes.

Vantage Fit tracks steps from one device at a time to keep your count accurate and prevent double-counting.
